Post 5. Who is a person/expert on your field that I admire?

Image
Hello everybody! I want to tell you about this person that I consider is important in the biology field. His name is Charles Darwin, he born in England on February 12 in 1809. When he was 16, he studied at the University of Edinburgh because Darwin's father wanted to carry on the family legacy being a medic. But Darwin didn't want that, so he moved to University of Cambridge, where he prepared to become a priest. Even so, he showed a fondness for nature, and it was there that John Henslow would see him and invite him to join a voyage as a replacement naturist on the HMS Beagle in 1831. The voyage lasted until 1836, when back in England, he began a period of reflection that would lead him, after several years, to formulate his famous theory of evolution by natural selection in his publication "the origin of species", a discovery that would bring him to fame.  I like his work because he change the paradigm of biology in a way that caused this science to be taken serious...

Post 4. My favourite food

Image
Hi everybody! In this case, I will tell you about my favorite food, which makes my days happy. I'm talking about lasagne, a type of pasta from Italy. This food consists of sheets or wide strips that are layered one on top of the other, building a kind of tower of sheets.  In between the slices, several ingredents, such as bolognese sauce or béchamel sauce, cheese, mincemeat, and sometimes basil leaves, are added. To prepare sheets, we must use the same ingredients to make pasta, which consists of fluor, eggs, oil and a pinch of salt.  I naturally like pasta as it's, but I really like this layering of sheets one on top of the other; however, lasagne is special for me because it reminds me of family lunches and outings.  I know that lasagne is not very healthy because of the pasta dough, but it's a good idea to eat it once in a while and not in excess. Besides, if you use ingredients such as olive oil or avoid adding too much cheese, it could make it healthier to eat....

Post 3. My favourite piece of technology

Image
This piece of technology is basically my partner in this sense, because I always use them, mostly on public transport.  I'm talking about my headphones, this piece of technology is a device for listening music, this are quite large, so they usually muffle outside noise. I got my headphones one day when I walked to my home and I passed by a shop that was near my street. I remember that I bought this device in May; on that day, specifically, they were on sale, so it was very easy for me to buy them, at that moment a "strong partnership" was born between us.  I just put my headphones on my ears, and the magic begins. I usually use them all the time when I travel by metro, as well as when I do my homework or any personal project.  I love this piece of technology because I can listen to my favorite music and disconnect a bit from the outside. if I don't have this anymore, I think that I will buy other headphones desperately, but only because they are cheap, I doubt I wou...

Post 2. Why did I choose my mayor/career?

Since I was a child, I used to watch programs like Discovery channel or Animal Planet and I, also, read books about all types animals from everywhere, from that moment I have been in love on scientific topics.   When I was in the school, I liked science classes, specifically, biology. In those moments when I was studying for my exams, I used to explain the concepts with myself, as if I explaining my ideas to someone else, this strategy worked very well for me.   On the other hand, my classmates asked me for help before the exams to understand some topics they didn't grasp and, in their opinion, my explanations were very clear.   For this reason, I decided to study pedagogy in biology and chemistry in the second year of middle school, although I had doubts at the beginning because negative comments from other people about money, in fourth year I followed my heart and I'm here studying this career actually.

Post 1. Who I am

I hope you're doing well. I want to tell you who I am.My name is Matias Barra; I'm 21. I was born in Hospital Clinico San Borja Arriarán, Santiago, but nowadays I live in Maipú. I don't usually have problems with living here; however, the journey to my university is exhausting and boring because this municipality is far from Ñuñoa. I love animals; my favorite animal is stingrays, although I like aquatic animals generally. I am studying pedagogy in biology and chemistry, and I wish to become a teacher so that my future students will be able to learn science. I have some hobbies, like reading things about animals or science usually, watching videos on Youtube, or listening to music. About my last hobby, my favorite singer is Adele.
